I have spoken to the navigator..he is working on some gigs and they will be announced soon…..over the next 12 months I hope to play in Tipperary, Clare and Limerick but we have nothing definite to tell you yet…..I do know that I will not be in Lisdoon in September…keep an eye on the gig page and sign up for the newsletter

Great news on the auld Dunlewey gig in June. You can be sure you will go down a treat as always. Donegal will never let you down!
I would like to ask a wee favour if I may. Unfortunately I will be in Canada when you play here in June for reasons beyond my control but my girlfriend Lisa will be at the gig and I would be a very happy lad if you could please sing ‘Beeswings’ for her. It happens to be song I ‘wooed’ her with at the Fleadh Cheoil in Cavan last year. It would mean a lot of you could.

the first version I did of Lord Baker was with Planxty on the album “Words and Music” in 1981…there is a second version when I duetted with Sinead O’Connor on her “Sean Nós” album about 10 years ago…I may very well return to this wonderful ancient song as I hear a different version emerging these days

Magpies and Scall Crows….the Sean Fitzpatricks and Michael Fingletons of the Irish Feathered Community….fair play to your Dad for simultaneously getting rid of them there varmints and providing fuel for next winter at the same time…your kettle will never be off the boil….mind you there are a host of magpies just after landing in our back garden and the feckers all have mad Galway accents….I saw turquoise sheep on The Curragh the year that Johnny Naughton got a bit over enthusiastic at the branding (1958)….did not effect the flavour of the chops at all
been looking for over 20 years for a song i heard u sing , i was 17 at the time and this song has stayed with me all these years, asked so many ppl and sung the lyrics to them, they all shook their heads…. at last i have found you and your song along with many many more that kept me from going insaine over the years , lol

Elvis Costello sang that song to us here after the dinner one night about 20 years ago…I recorded it on an album called Voyage circa 1990…added a few extra drinks to the chorus…”Schnappes, Chianti, Porter, Ouza, Pernod, Vodka, Sambucco, I love you so”…dont think he noticed, but he dont miss too much our Elvis
FYI: I’m the guy who bought the EGB808TE which you apparently traded for a Dreadnought. Anyway, I’m more than happy to play it and the history makes it even more fun, though I’m a Fingerstyle player, hence, never sing 🙂
Unfortunately I had to leave Ireland and therefore never had the opportunity to attend one
of your concerts. But a huge part of my heart will always remain on this wonderful Island – and leaving doesn’t mean I can’t come back 🙂

Jeez i am so excited fair bursting, just got the tickets for the Barras gig in Nov, me the Mrs and the boy (well he got the tickets, thanks son!) now need to see about book flights to Scoatia and with a wee bit of luck pick up a game at Parkhead!
Lucky enough to have seen the man at Ballisodare in 78 (or was it 79?) few times in Glasgow in the Far East (Edinburgh), Southport! and Liverpool , last time at Christy gig was early 90’s…..all before make the move here to the States Cannot even play the barras DVD over here!

In the current climate it pays I think to plan ahead especially with certain options which you know you can sell out

my pen is worn out, my hand is numb, Joxer refuses to be followed…..I have tried everything, rosaries, novenas, press-ups, reiki, psillocybin, Lough Derg, skunk, poitín, silence, 2 weeks in an enclosed convent ( fasting),an over-night with the Screamers in Burtonport was the closest I came to finding a sequel but when I came down the verses were unrepeatable…I’m handing the job over to The Rubber Bandits
